Quick Answer

What does forehead botox actually do, and why is the eyebrow the hard part?

Forehead botox relaxes the frontalis, the broad sheet of muscle that folds the horizontal lines each time you raise your brows. The catch is that the same muscle is the only one lifting your eyebrows, so the treatment is a balance: relax enough to ease the lines, leave enough pull near the brow so it does not drop. At RE:BERRY Gangnam a licensed physician reads your brow height and frontalis strength first, weights the dose toward the upper forehead, and deliberately spares a band above the eyebrow, smoothing the lines while your face keeps its expressions.

Effects & Progress

Effects & Progress

The frontalis is the muscle that raises your brows and, in doing so, folds the horizontal forehead lines. Relaxing it eases those lines at their source. Forehead botox targets the movement, not the skin.

TimelineWhat to Expect
Right after

Tiny injection dots and mild redness may appear and usually fade within a few hours. Makeup and daily life resume the same day, staying upright and skipping brow rubbing for the first few hours.

After 2 weeks

Onset begins as the frontalis softens and the horizontal lines start to ease when you raise your brows. Response speed varies by individual; nothing looks frozen this early.

After 1–3 months

The full effect settles near two weeks. This is when the physician reviews brow height and symmetry against your resting face and can add a touch or ease the balance if one side moves differently.

6–12 months

Maintenance period. The frontalis regains movement over roughly three to four months as the nerves recover; RE:BERRY will guide the repeat interval that keeps your lines soft and your brows natural.

Treatment Process

※ Illustrative images are AI-generated to help explain the treatment process.
STEP 1

STEP 1. 1:1 Personal Consultation

The physician asks you to raise your brows, then to hold them at maximum, watching where the lines fold and how much lift the frontalis is doing. That reading, how strong the muscle is and how your brows rest, decides the dose and how high above the brow it is placed.

STEP 2

STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream

After cleansing, numbing cream rests for 20–30 minutes. The sealed product label is confirmed with you before opening.

STEP 3

STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection

Botulinum toxin is placed intramuscularly across the upper forehead through a set of small points, the amount weighted toward the lines and eased off near the brow. A fine needle is used and the pinches are brief; the injecting itself is over in a few minutes.

STEP 4

STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide

There is no downtime. Makeup and daily life resume the same day, staying upright and skipping brow rubbing for a few hours. Onset runs 3–7 days, the full effect settles near 2 weeks, and a review then lets any brow balance be fine-tuned.

Effects & Progress

Effects & Progress

Lines Eased at Their Source

Horizontal forehead lines are movement lines: every time you lift your brows, the frontalis contracts and folds the skin above them, and over years those folds settle into visible creases. Botulinum toxin lowers the nerve signal reaching that muscle, so it contracts less and the lines ease from the source instead of being filled from the surface. The frontalis is a broad sheet with no antagonist above it, so mapping where it pulls hardest, usually the mid and upper forehead, is how the smoothing lands where the lines actually form.

Fine Lines & Pores

Here is the tension that defines forehead botox: the frontalis both writes the lines and holds the eyebrows aloft, so quieting it too completely trades wrinkles for a heavy, low brow and a flat, tired look. The physician resolves this by weighting the dose toward the upper forehead and deliberately sparing a band above the eyebrow, leaving the lower fibers working. A conservative first dose is often the right call precisely because it protects that balance: the lines soften while the brow keeps its natural rest and lift. Response varies by individual, and the two-week review exists to adjust it.

Texture & Glow

An over-treated forehead is recognizable, and reading those signals is what keeps the treatment natural. Too much toxin, or placement dropped too low, can leave the brows feeling heavy, the upper lids looking hooded, or the whole forehead unnaturally smooth and immobile, the frozen look people fear. Some develop the telltale arched, quizzical brow when only the central fibers are relaxed and the outer ones over-compensate. None of these lasts; they fade as the toxin does. The physician's answer is prevention: a measured dose, a spared lower band, and placement read from your own brow height instead of a maximum applied to everyone.

Aftercare and a Timed Review

Forehead botox is a maintenance treatment, and its reversibility is a feature, not a limitation. The nerve endings recover over the following months, the frontalis returns to full movement, and the lines gradually come back. That reversibility is what makes a conservative first session the safe choice: a light dose can be topped up at the two-week review, while an overdose simply has to wait out. The muscle-relaxing effect lasts roughly three to four months on the forehead, a touch shorter than some other areas because the frontalis is so active. Each repeat is an opportunity to refine placement and dose against how your own forehead responded last time. The physician sets the interval from your muscle, not a calendar.

STEP 1. 1:1 Personal Consultation

The physician asks you to lift your brows and hold at maximum contraction, then reads the forehead the way it actually moves. Where do the horizontal lines fold, how deep, and how much of your resting brow height is the frontalis holding up? People differ here more than the mirror suggests: some carry the brows high on a very active frontalis, others already sit low and cannot spare much lift. Because the frontalis is the sole eyebrow lifter, that reading governs everything downstream: total units, how many points, and how high above the brow border each one goes. Photographs at rest and at full lift are taken so the plan is drawn from your own anatomy, not a fixed forehead template.

STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream
STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream

The mapped points are marked while you watch in the mirror, kept a clear margin above the eyebrow so the lower fibers that support brow height are left working. The skin is cleansed with an antiseptic wash and the sealed, genuine single-use vial is prepared and confirmed with you before anything is opened. A fine needle is used, and the physician talks through where each point will sit and why the row nearest the brow is deliberately spared. That lower band is the safeguard against a heavy, dropped brow, and it is planned, not left to chance.

STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection
STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection

Following the map, the physician places botulinum toxin into the frontalis through a set of small intramuscular points across the upper forehead, spacing them so the smoothing is even, never patchy. The amount is weighted toward where the lines fold and eased off in the band nearest the brow, so the muscle relaxes where you want it quiet and keeps enough pull where it holds your eyebrows up. A fine needle keeps the pinches brief, the physician adjusts to your feedback as the row descends, and the injecting is done in a few minutes with nothing to bandage. Nothing is removed and nothing is implanted; the frontalis simply receives a quieter signal.

STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide
STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide

A cooling pack and regeneration cream soothe the skin right after treatment. Embossing and mild bruising may last 2–5 days; avoid sauna, alcohol, and intense exercise on the day. We recommend 3 sessions at 3–4 week intervals, then maintenance every 6–12 months.

Benefits & Results

What a Brow-Balanced Forehead Treatment Delivers, and How It Settles

  • Lines eased at their source: the frontalis is relaxed where it folds the skin, so the horizontal creases soften from the muscle instead of being filled from the surface
  • Eyebrows kept where they belong: the dose is weighted to the upper forehead and a band above the brow is deliberately spared, protecting your resting brow height and natural lift
  • A face that still moves: a measured, conservative dose leaves enough motion that you can still register surprise and warmth, no glassy, immobile forehead
  • Read from your own anatomy: brow height and frontalis strength are assessed at maximum contraction, so the plan follows your face, not a fixed forehead template
  • Reversible by design: the effect wears off over three to four months, so a cautious first dose is the safe choice. It can be topped up at the review; an overdose can only wait out.
  • Genuine, MFDS-registered material verified in front of you, and one licensed physician from the brow-lift reading through the two-week review
TimelineWhat to Expect
Session done in minutes; tiny injection dots and mild redness fade within hours. Makeup, flying, and dinner are all fine the same day, keeping upright for the first few hours

Full effect settles. This is when brow height and symmetry are reviewed against your resting face, and the physician can add a touch or ease the balance if one side moves differently

Why This Matters

These are not the same treatment, and they are often planned together. Forehead botox and glabella botox relax different muscles: the frontalis that folds the horizontal lines, and the frown muscles that carve the vertical 'eleven'. Filler addresses volume when a groove stays visible even at rest. At RE:BERRY Gangnam the physician reads which of your lines are movement lines and which are static before choosing between them.

The single reason forehead botox demands more judgment than most botox areas is that the frontalis has no muscle above it to lift the brow if it is over-relaxed. Drop it too far or place it too low and the brow feels heavy and the lids look hooded. The RE:BERRY protocol answers this with a deliberately spared band above the eyebrow and a dose read from your own brow height.

KHIDI's 2025 international patient survey found 41.4% of respondents rank keeping the same doctor throughout as their leading criterion. On the forehead that continuity is practical, not just reassuring: the physician who read your brow-lift is the one who judges the two-week review and adjusts the balance, so the plan is measured against the face they already know.

The Evidence Behind Forehead Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin type A works by blocking the release of acetylcholine at the junction between nerve and muscle, so the treated muscle receives a quieter signal and contracts less. On the forehead the target is the frontalis, and easing its pull is what softens the horizontal lines that form each time the brows are raised. The mechanism has been documented across two decades of controlled aesthetic studies, beginning with large randomized trials of the frown complex and extending to work aimed specifically at the forehead and its brow-position risks.

The randomized evidence for cosmetic botulinum toxin was established in the upper face. A multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 264 patients reported significant, reproducible improvement in glabellar lines from a single treatment, confirming both efficacy and a favorable safety profile. It is the study that anchored aesthetic toxin practice and the technique carried into forehead work.

Carruthers JA, Lowe NJ, Menter MA, et al. A multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study of the efficacy and safety of botulinum toxin type A in the treatment of glabellar lines. J Am Acad Dermatol. 2002;46(6):840-849. doi:10.1067/mjd.2002.121356

Forehead-specific research has focused on the trade-off that defines the area: smoothing the lines without dropping the brow. An early open study of botulinum A toxin for upper-face wrinkles documented durable improvement in dynamic lines, and later Korean work described how glabellar protrusion and brow-shape changes can follow forehead injection and how placement corrects for them. The brow is the brow is the variable to plan around, not an afterthought.

Hankins CL, Strimling R, Rogers GS. Botulinum A toxin for glabellar wrinkles: dose and response. Dermatol Surg. 1998;24(11):1181-1183. doi:10.1111/j.1524-4725.1998.tb04095.x

More recent work has turned toward standardizing dose and depth so results are reproducible and complications are minimized. A 2023 review comparing intramuscular and intradermal delivery for forehead wrinkles weighed efficacy against side effects, and a 2024 study introduced a predictive dosage model to tailor forehead treatment to the individual, the direction the RE:BERRY protocol already follows, reading brow height and frontalis strength before choosing units and placement.

Common Questions

Questions International Guests Ask About Forehead Botox in Gangnam

Will forehead botox make my eyebrows drop?

Not when it is planned around the brow. The frontalis is the only muscle that lifts your eyebrows, so a dropped brow comes from over-relaxing it or placing the dose too low. At RE:BERRY Gangnam the physician spares a band above the eyebrow, weights the dose toward the upper forehead, and reads your resting brow height first, so the lines soften while the brow keeps its lift.

How much does forehead botox cost in Gangnam, Seoul?

The published rate is shown as ₩19,000 (about $14), VAT included, confirmed in writing before you book. Forehead-and-glabella balance or upper-face planning is quoted at consultation because the dose split depends on your muscles. There are no add-on charges beyond the written figure.

How do I know if I have had too much? What does over-relaxation look like?

The signs are recognizable: a brow that feels heavy, upper lids that look hooded, a forehead that looks glassy and cannot move, or brows that no longer rise when you are surprised. Some people get an oddly arched, quizzical brow when only the central fibers are relaxed. None of it lasts. It fades as the toxin does, and a measured dose is how the physician avoids it in the first place.

How many units will I need for my forehead?

That is decided from your brow-lift reading, not a fixed number. A strong, active frontalis that carries the brows high may take more; a forehead that already rests low is treated more sparingly to protect brow height. The physician confirms your plan after watching you contract at maximum, and often starts conservative so it can be topped up at the two-week review.

Is forehead botox the same as botox between my eyebrows?

No. They treat different muscles. Forehead botox relaxes the frontalis that folds the horizontal lines when you raise your brows. Botox between the brows relaxes the frown muscles that carve the vertical 'eleven'. They are frequently planned together as one balanced map, because relaxing the forehead alone can change how the frown lines behave.

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Onset is three to seven days as the frontalis begins to soften, and the full effect settles near two weeks. On the forehead the result lasts roughly three to four months, a touch shorter than some other areas because the frontalis is such an active muscle. A repeat maintains the result and lets placement be refined each time.

Does forehead botox hurt?

Most guests describe brief pinches, not pain. A very fine needle is used, and the injecting itself is over in a few minutes. There is nothing to bandage afterward, only a few tiny dots that fade within hours. If you are anxious about the sensation, tell the physician and a comfort option can be discussed at consultation.

Is there any downtime, can I fly home the same day?

There is no wound and no downtime. Makeup, meals, sightseeing, and a same-day flight are all fine. Keep upright and skip rubbing or massaging the forehead for a few hours, and hold off on saunas, very hot showers, and hard exercise for the rest of the day. That makes it easy to fit into a short Seoul itinerary.

What if my brows end up uneven after the treatment?

Mild, temporary asymmetry can appear while the two sides settle at their own pace, and it usually evens out as the effect matures. The two-week review is exactly when this is judged: the physician checks brow height and symmetry against your resting face and can add a small amount to balance one side. That review is included in the treatment.

Can I combine forehead botox with other treatments on the same visit?

Often, yes — many guests pair it with frown-line botox or with treatments in other categories. If your deeper forehead grooves stay visible even at rest, the physician may discuss filler for those, since a static groove is a volume issue more than a movement one. What suits you is decided after the assessment, and staged sensibly if more than one thing is planned.

Do you have Spanish-speaking staff for the booking and aftercare?

Yes. Spanish-speaking coordinators handle the booking and aftercare on WhatsApp, and the clinic covers eight languages on-site. The medical consultation with the physician is arranged so nothing about your dose, brow balance, or aftercare rules gets lost in translation, and you confirm everything before anything is scheduled.

How do I book forehead botox in Gangnam as a foreign visitor?

Message RE:BERRY on WhatsApp with your travel dates. A Spanish- or English-speaking coordinator replies, confirms the published ₩19,000 (about $14) rate in writing, and reserves a physician slot. The clinic is reservation-only for international guests, and the brow-lift reading, injection, and aftercare all fit into a single visit.

Where is the clinic, and how do I reach it from Gangnam Station?

RE:BERRY sits inside KI Tower on Gangnam-daero, a two-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 10 on Seoul Metro Line 2. From Incheon Airport it is roughly 45 to 60 minutes by AREX and subway or by direct taxi. Being steps from the station means your appointment slots cleanly between shopping and dining in Gangnam.

Science Forehead botulinum toxin: peer-reviewed references

Cosmetic botulinum toxin rests on controlled evidence built in the upper face. The randomized foundation came from a multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 264 patients that established efficacy and safety for the frown complex (Carruthers 2002). Forehead-specific work then addressed the area's defining trade-off (smoothing lines without dropping the brow) from early dose-and-response data (Hankins 1998) to Korean analysis of brow-shape change and its correction (Kim 2016). Recent research has moved toward standardizing delivery and dose: a review weighing intramuscular against intradermal injection for the forehead (Almashali 2023) and a predictive dosage model tailoring treatment to the individual forehead (Alhallak 2024).
